Turn on Do Not Disturb For an Individual Sender

Block an Individual Sender Using Messages App
When turning off notification notifications does not work for you , and you want to prevent the contact from messaging you , you can do this by using the Messages application. To make or receive messages, you’ll have to manually remove them manually.
Then, open the app ‘Messages’ via the dock or launchpad on the macOS device.
Click on the tab ‘Messages’ in the menu bar which is located in the upper right corner on the display. Then, select the ‘Preferences’ tab in the menu overlay. The “Preferences” window that appears on the screen.
Then, in the window overlay, click the tab ‘iMessage. After that, select the option ‘Blocked’ in the window.
Then, click the “+” button located in the left-hand side in the windows. This will display your contacts list in the overlay menu. Click to select the desired contacts to block.
