Set Your Preferred Language and Enable Auto Translation of Web Pages
The first step is to launch Google Chrome on your Windows 11 PC. After that, click the menu button, which is represented by three vertical dots on the upper right-hand corner of the browser window.
Choose ‘Settings’ in the dropdown menu.
Then, select “Advanced Settings on the left-hand side in the Settings window.
Choose ‘Languages’ from Advanced Settings context menu.
Use the downward-facing arrowhead next to the word ‘Language’ in the section titled ‘Languages. Click the ‘Add languages under the list of the default languages.
There will be an option to add languages. Scroll down to locate your language(s) you wish to add, or simply enter your language’s name into the field ‘Search Languages’ and then click the tickbox the middle of your desired language(s). You can add several languages simultaneously. After that, click the “Add” button.
The new language(s) will appear in the lower left corner of your standard language(s). Click the ‘More actions’ icon (three horizontal dots) next to the language you want to utilize Google Chrome in.
Select the tickbox for the first option on the context menu. It will display Google Chrome in this language. This will move this language up the page by clicking on the Relaunch button.
If you would like to have an option to translate your website in the future for the language you’re currently using, select the following option offer to translate websites in that language. This option is useful when you encounter websites that don’t match your preferred language.
If you didn’t select the option to translate, fret not. Just click the toggle next to the ‘Offering to translate pages not in the language you’re familiar with option, which is located below on the page of available languages, to change it to blue.
To select the language you want to use as your default language in Chrome Click the button ‘Relaunch’ right next to it.
Google Chrome will now restart on its own and show the browser in your preferred language.
Translate Individual Languages
You can choose to have translations of language(s) in addition to the language you prefer. To do this, click the ellipsis symbol (three horizontal dots) in the direction of the language you would like to translate, under the section ‘Other languages.
Click the checkbox next to the “Offer to translate pages into this language’ option to choose it, and thus allow translation in that specific language.
Google will now request to translate websites that aren’t in the language you prefer.
Reordering Your Languages
If you want to arrange your language list in a way that is reflective of your preferences, click the ellipsis symbol (three horizontal dots) in front of the language you wish to change. Select the language you want to move in the order you prefer. for either moving up or down.
The top language on the list is only moved down, whereas any language that is below it is able to be boosted up to first position using the “Move to the top” option.
Removing Languages on Google Chrome
If you discover that you are not using a language that you have added, you are able to take it off. To take a language off the list of Chrome languages, simply click the “More actions” icon by three vertical dots beside the language you want to target.
Then, select the “Remove” option at the bottom in the menu context.

Using Spellcheck on Google Chrome

Select the language you wish to spellcheck by pressing the radio button to the right of it. If you wish to spellcheck all of your languages select the ‘All your languages’ option. You can also alter the level of spelling check (basic as well as enhanced) within the context menu.
Changing Preferred Language on Your Google Account
Start your Chrome internet browser from your computer and then click on the Google Account profile picture to the upper right-hand corner of the screen. After that, click the ‘Manage Your Google Account Click the ‘Manage your Google Account’ button beneath your Google account credentials.
You’ll be taken to the website that is associated with the account you have created with Google Account. Select ‘Personal information from the left menu of choices.
Browse through the ‘Personal information window to locate the ‘General preferences for web’ section on the right. In this section, choose the first option – “Language”.
Select the pencil next to your preferred language beneath the title ‘Preferred Language’ in the window for Language.
Select the language you want to use using the scroll-through list , or entering your language’s name into the box ‘Enter language. If you select one that has at least one variation, you’ll be redirected to the list of variants. Select the variant or language from the list, then click the ‘Select’ button.
If you can’t locate any language listed or in the standard language of choice, this could be due to the language being written in the original language. Scroll down to locate the language.
The language you use for Chrome will be changed immediately to the new language. Everything on your Chrome site will now be in the newly preferred language.
Adding Other Languages to Your Google Account
Google automatically provides suggestions for languages in response to your browsing activity. It’s a standard setting. To add these suggestions to the main menu of languages ‘Other Click the Save button beneath the suggestion for a language.
If you save your language suggestions, it will be listed below that list, which was previously called languages listed under ‘Other’. To delete any language from this list, click the trashcan icon as well as the deletion icon next on the chosen language.
Then, you can scroll through the ‘Add a Language box’ or type your language’s name in the search box. Select the language, and then click Select to add it.
Another option is to switch the language you prefer. If you select ‘Other languages and you’ll notice an upward arrow beside every language. This button will move the language up in the list, and the language that is at near the very top of “Other languages section will be selected to the top of the list as the preferred language by pressing this button.
The language that was previously preferred will now be given the first place in the section ‘Other languages.
By adding more languages, you will see the three most popular languages (other and most preferred) under the ‘General preferences on the internet’ page of your Google account page.
Deleting Google’s Language Suggestions
If you wish to delete any suggestion for Google’s language Click the trashcan or delete icon on the right side of the specific suggestion(s).
The removal of the suggestion from Google suggestion also decreases Google content for services in that specific language. You’ll receive an email confirmation of the decision. If you’re confident you’re sure, then select the “Remove” option.
The changes will be apparent over time.
If you wish to eliminate Google’s suggestions for languages, just select the toggle next to “Automatically add languages: On’, at the end of the page to disable the setting.
There will be a confirmation box that confirms your decision to block Google from automatically adding new languages. Check the message and select the Stop adding option.
The earlier suggestions, too. If you want to enable the setting once more just click the same switch and the earlier suggestions will be reappear.
